Details: Herzog’s films often include on-location animal encounters that seem largely coincidental and that the director spontaneously decides are appropriate symbolic inclusions. Here, a dream sequence justifies a gigantic colony of large crabs crossing a train track while the train is passing through, 1:23:12-123:26. It is shot from a distance and nothing gory is shown, but the implicit carnage is enormous.
