In the Year of the Pig is a crucially important film that explains the Vietnam War and at the same time displays de Antonio’s prowess as historian and visionary artist. This DVD in the set also includes a superb interview with the filmmaker (about 25 minutes) by professor emeritus June Perry of the University of Nebraska, striking because de Antonio apologizes for neither intellectualism nor filmmaking.
