Edition screened: Vinegar Syndrome Blu-ray #146, released 2016. English language. Runtime approximately 88 minutes.
Summary: No depictions of violence or harm to animals.
The Undertaker does not deserve its bad reputation. There are some overly-long scenes and several performances are not particularly good, but Joe Spinell is consistently engaging and the film as a whole is curiously captivating. Most significantly, The Undertaker is not suffocated by obnoxious characters making stupid jokes, an attribute that seems to be preferred by many viewers of 1980’s horror.
A booklet included in the Vinegar Syndrome release explains that Franco De Steffanino (spelled various ways across the internet) is an alias for the combined efforts of several people who worked on The Undertaker, including actor/writer William James Kennedy and producer Steve Bono.
