Summary: Quick but sensationalistic animal violence throughout.
I think every episode has some quick bit of animal murder or brutality. Early in the first episode we are in an alley where horses are being slaughtered and butchered. We hear the gunshots and the horses’ cries, see heavy cleavers falling on big pieces of meat, but don’t actually see horses being killed. Other episodes have 1-second scenes of rabbits being skinned and similar, and of course there are dead game birds hanging everywhere.
Except for the off-screen horse slaughter, the animal violence is pretty much standard fare for historical dramas.
