Skyhook

Skyhook. James Hill, 1958.

Edition screened: Included on BFI ‘Flipside’ Blu-ray #017 Lunch Hour, released 2011. English language. Runtime approximately 17 minutes.

This smug promotional film for British Petroleum was made back when such industries openly displayed what they really did. Native people are employed to destroy the forest they call home so that grinning executive buffoons in hardhats have a place to land their helicopter. It is surprising that the film does not include scenes of them pointing and laughing as animals are crushed under machinery. Those edits probably were very disappointing.
