RoGoPaG

RoGoPaG (Let’s Wash Our Brains: Ro.Go.Pa.G.). Roberto Rossellini, Jean-Luc Godard, Pier Paolo Pasolini, and Ugo Gregoretti, 1963.
😸
Edition screened: Eureka! Masters of Cinema Blu-ray #38, released 2012. Italian language with English subtitles. Runtime approximately 126 minutes.

Summary: No particular depictions of violence or harm to animals.

Ro.Go.Pa.G. provides a much more satisfying viewing experience than most European portmanteau films of the 1960s, even entertaining and amusing from time to time. The high point is Orson Welles’ speech to an intruding newspaper reporter in La Ricotta. Playing the Director of a movie about The Crucifixion, Welles’ words are Godard, his clothes are Rossellini, his physical presence is Fellini, and his behavior is Pasolini.

Segments include:
Ilibatezza (Virginity), Roberto Rossellini, approximately 32 minutes
Il Nuovo Mondo (The New World), Jean-Luc Godard, approximately 20 minutes
La Ricotta (Ricotta Cheese), Pier Paolo Pasolini, approximately 35 minutes
Il Pollo Ruspante (Free-Range Chicken), Ugo Gregoretti, approximately 33 minutes
